Precorsi della Facoltà di Interpretariato e Traduzione

The course is mainly aimed at developing oral communication skills in English. Therefore, all of the classroom activities (listening, reading, writing) will be in preparation of a final speaking session (e.g. in the form of a debate, individual/group presentation or report, even using audio-visual resources). Students will be expected to make use of the appropriate register, and a good range of C1/C1+ vocabulary and grammar structures in a variety of real-life scenarios, which will have been discovered, modelled, analysed, and practised during the input sessions.

Students are strongly advised to purchase the following textbook (they can send ME an email and I will contact the publisher myself):

KEYNOTE PROFICIENT (BRITISH ENGLISH) - Ted Talks
by Dummett, Stephenson, Lansford
ed. by National Geographic Learning (2016)

Extra-materials, if any, will be provided by the teacher.

Below is a draft of the calendar we will be following for the whole semester (November to December):

TUE 12-14:00 ROOM 7  +  THU 14-16:00 ROOM 5 / FRI 14-16:00 ROOM 18B

Physical presence is strongly encouraged, due to the interactive nature of the course and activities, but students can participate on Zoom as well.

In order to make any progress, despite the different background and starting level of competence, 75% attendance rate is advised.
